Dear parish family and friends of Our Lady of the Scapular,
We continue to pray for peace in our world. The news is very difficult to watch. May the words of the Prayer of Saint Francis occupy our minds, focus our intentions, and inform our actions:
"Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace: where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy."
"O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen."
This weekend is World Mission Sunday. May we offer our prayers and financial support to those who continue to preach the Gospel both near and far to those hearing it for the first time. The command of Christ is just as relevant now as when it was first said: “Go to all nations and tell the Good News.”
May God bless you and those that you love,
Fr. Greg
