Dear parish family and friends of Our Lady of the Scapular,

For 75 years, this parish has been a place of faith, prayer, hope, and community. Generations of families have come through these doors to celebrate Baptisms, First Communions, Confirmations, Weddings, and Funerals — and, most importantly, to gather around the altar, to be fed by the Eucharist, and grow together in faith.

We give thanks to Almighty God for the many blessings He has given to our parish throughout these 75 years. We also remember with gratitude the priests, religious, parish staff, volunteers, and parishioners who have faithfully served and helped build this wonderful community.

A special thank you goes to everyone who continues to give their time, talents, prayers, and generosity to Our Lady of the Scapular. This parish is truly a reflection of the people who have loved it and supported it over the years.

As we celebrate our past, may we also look forward with hope to the future. May Our Lady of the Scapular continue to watch over our parish, our families, and all who enter these doors.

May we continue to bear fruit for the kingdom, for generations to come, and may God bless you and those that you love! Happy and blessed anniversary!

The Holy Name Society wishes you a happy autumn and Thanksgiving season!

October is dedicated as the month of the Holy Rosary.

We invite you to participate in the public recitation of the Holy Rosary prior to each 8:00 am Sunday Mass during the month October, starting on Sunday, October 4.

Interested in the work of Development and Peace but don't know how to get involved?

Development and Peace will be conducting an on-line Leadership Training Program through the autumn months to provide individuals with the information and skills they need to get more involved.

There will be four workshops on Wednesdays at 7:00 pm on the following dates:

October 21: Social Movements and the Role of Development and Peace
November 25: Organizing 101
December 2: Parishes, Diocesan Councils and the Wider Movement

Thanks to all the ladies who came to our first meeting of the new season last Thursday!

Our topic was prayer, and included a brief introduction to the Church's daily prayer for all the faithful (priests and religious as well as the laity), known as "The Liturgy of the Hours." We discussed how we, in our vocation of motherhood, can find our own unique way to answer the shared call to "pray without ceasing."

Inspired by a reading of A Mother's Liturgy of the Hours by Danielle Bean, we pondered the "temporary privilege" we have as mothers to care for our children and recognized that this monumental task would be impossible without God's grace from hour to hour and minute to minute.

We also celebrated the beatification of Archbishop Fulton Sheen earlier in the day by sharing the story of the recognized miracle that earned the holy man the official title of "Blessed."

Calling all Singers and Musicians!

Join our choirs this Sunday!

Youth Choir
Our youth choir meets at 9:00 am every Sunday to practice and share their gifts of music each week at our 9:30 am Mass! If you are in grade 2 all the way to high school, come join our group!

Senior Choir
Our senior choir meets at 10:30 am every Sunday and sings at the 11:00 am Mass. No prior musical training is needed! Come try it out, and sing, laugh and pray with us!

We wish to extend a very heartfelt thank you to all who devoted a Eucharistic Holy Hour as part of our 75 Hours of Adoration, celebrating the 75th Anniversary of our Parish.

May the Lord bless each of you for your love and devotion to Him in the Blessed Sacrament.

Come visit our Lord in our St. Joseph Adoration Chapel. Our Chapel is open Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. After hours requires you to register for an access card.
